WTF Crush: Conan O’Brien

He’s pale. He’s lanky. He wears hisĀ ginger-colored hair in a ridiculous, exaggerated pompadour. What’s not to like?

Conan O’Brien is totally crush worthy. Need I tell you why?

He’s both smart and hilarious.

We mostly know him for his late-night talk shows, but he’s also written for Saturday Night Live and The Simpsons. And he was president of the Harvard Lampoon.

I’m sorry, but I’m irresistibly attracted to smart funnymen. And when that humor is dry and self deprecating, I’m done for.

Let us turn to the videotape!

He doesn’t take himself too seriously.

Like last week’s WTF Crush, Conan makes fun of himself just as much as he pokes fun of others. There’s something endearing about someone who’s not afraid to make an ass of himself.

Exhibit one: the jeggings episode

Conan had Tim Gunn on his show and was talking about how much he loves women in jeggings. Tim told him that men wear them too, which is all the permission Conan needed to rock them the next night. Check out the hilarious video here. It includes dancing. Need I say more?

Which brings me to my next point and exhibit two…

He can (sort of) dance.

OK, so maybe he’s not the perfect clubbing partner. But you have to love a guy who can let loose–especially while exaggerating his ridiculously long limbs.

He’s like a big, overgrown kid.

My husband and I watched Rodman Flender’s documentary Conan O’Brien Can’t Stop last weekend. It’s what totally threw me over the edge with this crush of mine.

It’s a really great behind-the-scenes look at Conan at both his goofiest and his most vulnerable, when he was in between TV jobs.

You see him as this huge ball of energy that’s constantly looking for a laugh. Whether it’s making his assistant speak into a banana or jumping around like a sugared-up four-year old, he’s always on the hunt for a captive audience.

I have no doubt that living with him would get old fast, but I absolutely love his sarcasm and biting humor from afar… hmmm, I’m noticing a trend here. These WTF Crushes are turning out to be way more revealing than anticipated (dear husband, please note that I said I enjoy it from afar).

The hair.

You can’t discuss Conan without mentioning the hair. But, really, the hair speaks for itself.

So tell me ladies. Are you with me on this one?

Girl Crush: Anne Hathaway

via People

Confession: I have loved Anne Hathaway since her awkward, frizzy haired, brace faced days as Mia Thermopolis in The Princess Diaries (maybe because I could relate?).

Since then, she’s grown into a woman who somehow manages to be both a glamorous fashionista and the goofy girl-next-door– not such an easy task when you think about it.

She always manages to look fresh and fabulous on the red carpet, donning the most beautiful gowns and flashing her trademark grin (which, let’s face it, is what makes her seem so down to earth). And she always looks so laid back and cool when she’s off the carpet.

I just love this girl’s style!

Her appearance on Conan this week, however, completely sealed the deal:

You just have to love a girl that goofy, don’t you? It’s kind of infectious.
