I realized this week that I’ve been seriously lacking in the jewelry department. While this is no tragedy, it’s kind of strange for someone who used to make jewelry. Lately, I’ve been wearing my Anjolee studs and adding the occasional arm party, but that’s pretty much where it has stopped.
I’m thinking this should change. And immediately. Continue reading
I was cruising through my wedding blog feed the other day and came across a fab post on Grey Likes Weddings that paired photos of manicures with complementary bouquets. I thought that was a pretty genius idea and it immediately made me think about how all of the great nail art that’s out there right now can inspire fashion.
I put together two outfits that were designed specifically around awesome manicures I found around the internets:
nails / ASOS cami / Forever21 shorts / Dorothy Perkins necklace
nails / Kate Spade romper / Kate Spade bag / Sam Edelman sandal
What do you think? Would you pull together an outfit around your manicure or do you think that’s just crazy talk? I happen to think it’s kind of fun…

There are still a few days left to score something awesome for the mommas in your life. Whether you pick up an ice cream maker that she can concoct delicious treats with her children with or a product that donates to a charity that’s important to her, make sure you think about her as a person, not just a momma. Nothing screams last-minute gift more than something totally generic!

My pal Jackie (aka my Bijou partner in fabulousness) posted this on our bridal blog yesterday. I’m in love!
Kate Spade “Henrietta Street” Fashion Film from Kinga Burza on Vimeo.
From the gorgeous color to the fab song, the typewriter, and all of the pretty Kate Spade pieces, I’m totally smitten! Which means it’s time for a little window shopping, no?
green vase, striped bracelet, glitter pump, t-shirt, stationery, “eat cake” pouch, cork flats, plates, striped bag, magazine clutch, cardigan, necklace, dress, engraved bracelet, purple bracelet
I love them all but if I had to pick just one favorite, I think it would be the engraved gold bracelet, mostly because of the inscription. On the inside it says “this is the year to” and the outside says “be curious as a cat, lose yourself in a good book, add a twist, play your cards right, make sparks fly.” Adorable, right?
Which is your favorite?
- Free People iPhone case
- Micro PAK
- Sephora Collection brush set
- Anthropologie Truly Aesthetic Bath Affirmations
- J. Crew Shoe of the Month Club via Look Linger Love
- Marc Jacobs compact
- Nadri bangles
- t+j designs ring
- Kate Spade studs
- Best Of L’Occitane Set
- Topshop zebra snood
While I’d love to use holiday parties as an excuse to shop, who has the money to buy a new outfit for every occasion? Not this girl! Instead, choose a versatile dress that you can make fancy or casual and use it all season long.
Check out the outfits I built around this red ModCloth dress:
dress: ModCloth; earrings: Marc by Marc Jacobs; necklace: Betsey Johnson
cardigan: Zara; bag: Cole Haan; shoes: SoYouShoes; tights: Wolford
dress: ModCloth; scarf: Simply Vera Vera Wang; pants: American Eagle
cardigan: Mango; bracelet: Juicy Couture; shoes: TOMS
dress: ModCloth; earrings: Kate Spade; necklace: Coast; jacket: ModCloth
tights: Commando; clutch: Lulu Townsend; nail polish: OPI; shoes: Bakers
They couldn’t be more different, right? If you pair one of your favorite staples with different combinations of accessories, no one will be the wiser!
Do you plan on using the same dress for different parties this holiday season?
Santa’s on a budget this year, but if his pockets were bottomless, these are a few of the things that would be on my list!
- MARC BY MARC JACOBS bag
- J. Crew skirt
- Kate Spade jacket
- Ralph Lauren throw blanket
- CB2 rug
- Banana Republic dress
- Anthropologie skirt
- Pendleton bag
I’m linking up with the ladies for Monday Mingle again this week! Click the picture at left to check out some other fashion posts!
OK, so originally I was going to throw one of these into my last Lust List, but my excitement over these can’t be constrained to a wordless feature.
I am an unapologetic word nerd. I also happen to be a wee bit obsessed with fashion. When these two forces combine, I’m left slack jawed and drooling.
Behold the Kate Spade book clutch:
I’m in love! From the quotes on the back to the detailed spines, these clutches are amaaaazing! At $325 they will never find their way under my arm, but a girl can drool, no?
Check out some of the other designs:
I can’t pick a favorite! Every time I try, I’m drawn back to one of the others. They’re just too adorable! Check out the rest of them here and tell me if there’s a book you think she should do.
